Proverbs 10 | King James Bible |
Chapter 11 | |
| A false balance [is] abomination to the LORD: but a just weight [is] his delight. |
| [When] pride cometh,1 then cometh4 shame: but with the lowly7 [is] wisdom. |
| The integrity of the upright shall guide55 them: but the perverseness of transgressors6 shall destroy4 7703 1 them. |
| Riches profit55 not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth55 from death. |
| The righteousness of the perfect shall direct17 his way: but the wicked shall fall4 by his own wickedness. |
| The righteousness of the upright shall deliver55 them: but transgressors6 shall be taken11 in [their own] naughtiness. |
| When a wicked man dieth, [his] expectation shall perish:4 and the hope of unjust [men] perisheth.1 |
| The righteous is delivered8 out of trouble, and the wicked cometh4 in his stead. |
| An hypocrite with [his] mouth destroyeth55 his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.11 |
| When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth:4 and when the wicked perish,2 [there is] shouting. |
| By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted:4 but it is overthrown11 by the mouth of the wicked. |
| He that is void of wisdom despiseth6 his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.55 |
| A talebearer6 7400 revealeth18 secrets: but he that is of a faithful8 spirit concealeth18 the matter. |
| Where no counsel [is], the people fall:4 but in the multitude of counsellors6 [there is] safety. |
| He that is surety1 for a stranger5 shall smart11 7451 [for it]: and he that hateth6 suretiship6 is sure.6 |
| A gracious woman retaineth4 honour: and strong [men] retain4 riches. |
| The merciful man doeth good6 to his own soul: but [he that is] cruel troubleth6 his own flesh. |
| The wicked worketh6 a deceitful work: but to him that soweth6 righteousness [shall be] a sure reward. |
| As righteousness [tendeth] to life: so he that pursueth18 evil [pursueth it] to his own death. |
| They that are of a froward heart [are] abomination to the LORD: but [such as are] upright in [their] way [are] his delight. |
| [Though] hand [join] in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished:11 but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.8 |
| [As] a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, [so is] a fair woman which is without6 discretion. |
| The desire of the righteous [is] only good: [but] the expectation of the wicked [is] wrath. |
| There is that scattereth,18 and yet increaseth;12 and [there is] that withholdeth6 more than is meet, but [it tendeth] to poverty. |
| The liberal soul shall be made fat:29 and he that watereth56 shall be watered55 also himself. |
| He that withholdeth6 corn, the people shall curse4 him: but blessing [shall be] upon the head of him that selleth56 [it]. |
| He that diligently seeketh6 good procureth17 favour: but he that seeketh6 mischief, it shall come4 unto him. |
| He that trusteth6 in his riches shall fall:4 but the righteous shall flourish4 as a branch. |
| He that troubleth6 his own house shall inherit4 the wind: and the fool [shall be] servant to the wise of heart. |
| The fruit of the righteous [is] a tree of life; and he that winneth6 souls [is] wise. |
| Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed29 in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.6 |
