| Chapter 15 |
| A soft answer turneth55 away wrath: but grievous words stir up55 anger. |
| The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright:55 but the mouth of fools poureth out55 foolishness. |
| The eyes of the LORD [are] in every place, beholding6 the evil and the good. |
| A wholesome tongue [is] a tree of life: but perverseness therein [is] a breach in the spirit. |
| A fool despiseth4 his father's instruction: but he that regardeth6 reproof is prudent.55 |
| In the house of the righteous [is] much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.12 |
| The lips of the wise disperse17 knowledge: but the heart of the foolish [doeth] not so. |
| The sacrifice of the wicked [is] an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright [is] his delight. |
| The way of the wicked [is] an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth4 him that followeth18 after righteousness. |
| Correction [is] grievous unto him that forsaketh6 the way: [and] he that hateth6 reproof shall die.4 |
| Hell and destruction [are] before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men? |
| A scorner5 loveth4 not one that reproveth53 him: neither will he go4 unto the wise. |
| A merry heart maketh a cheerful55 countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken. |
| The heart of him that hath understanding12 seeketh17 knowledge: but the mouth 6440 of fools feedeth4 on foolishness. |
| All the days of the afflicted [are] evil: but he that is of a merry heart [hath] a continual feast. |
| Better [is] little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith. |
| Better [is] a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled7 ox and hatred therewith. |
| A wrathful man stirreth up17 strife: but [he that is] slow to anger appeaseth55 strife. |
| The way of the slothful [man is] as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous [is] made plain.7 |
| A wise son maketh a glad17 father: but a foolish man despiseth6 his mother. |
| Folly [is] joy to [him that is] destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh2 uprightly.17 |
| Without counsel purposes are disappointed:53 but in the multitude of counsellors6 they are established.4 |
| A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word [spoken] in due season, how good [is it]! |
| The way of life [is] above to the wise,56 that he may depart2 from hell beneath. |
| The LORD will destroy4 the house of the proud: but he will establish55 the border of the widow. |
| The thoughts of the wicked [are] an abomination to the LORD: but [the words] of the pure [are] pleasant words. |
| He that is greedy6 of gain troubleth6 his own house; but he that hateth6 gifts shall live.4 |
| The heart of the righteous studieth4 to answer:2 but the mouth of the wicked poureth out55 evil things. |
| The LORD [is] far from the wicked: but he heareth4 the prayer of the righteous. |
| The light of the eyes rejoiceth17 the heart: [and] a good report maketh the bones fat.17 |
| The ear that heareth6 the reproof of life abideth4 among the wise. |
| He that refuseth6 instruction despiseth6 his own soul: but he that heareth6 reproof getteth6 understanding. |
| The fear of the LORD [is] the instruction of wisdom; and before honour [is] humility. |
