| Chapter 29 |
| He, that being often reproved hardeneth56 [his] neck, shall suddenly be destroyed,11 and that without remedy. |
| When the righteous are in authority,2 the people rejoice:4 but when the wicked beareth rule,2 the people mourn.11 |
| Whoso loveth6 wisdom rejoiceth17 his father: but he that keepeth company6 with harlots6 spendeth17 [his] substance. |
| The king by judgment establisheth55 the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth4 it. |
| A man that flattereth56 his neighbour spreadeth6 a net for his feet. |
| In the transgression of an evil man [there is] a snare: but the righteous doth sing4 and rejoice. |
| The righteous considereth6 the cause of the poor: [but] the wicked regardeth4 not to know [it]. |
| Scornful men bring a city into a snare:55 but wise [men] turn away55 wrath. |
| [If] a wise man contendeth12 with a foolish man, whether he rage1 or laugh,1 [there is] no rest. |
| The bloodthirsty 1818 hate4 the upright: but the just seek17 his soul. |
| A fool uttereth55 all his mind: but a wise [man] keepeth17 it in till afterwards. |
| If a ruler6 hearken56 to lies, 8267 all his servants18 [are] wicked. |
| The poor6 and the deceitful man meet8 together: the LORD lighteneth56 both their eyes. |
| The king that faithfully judgeth6 the poor, his throne shall be established11 for ever. |
| The rod and reproof give4 wisdom: but a child left30 [to himself] bringeth his mother to shame.56 |
| When the wicked are multiplied,2 transgression increaseth:4 but the righteous shall see4 their fall. |
| Correct16 thy son, and he shall give thee rest;55 yea, he shall give4 delight unto thy soul. |
| Where [there is] no vision, the people perish:11 but he that keepeth6 the law, happy [is] he. |
| A servant will not be corrected11 by words: for though he understand4 he will not answer. |
| Seest1 thou a man [that is] hasty5 in his words? [there is] more hope of a fool than of him. |
| He that delicately bringeth up18 his servant from a child shall have him become [his] son at the length. |
| An angry man stirreth up17 strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression. |
| A man's pride shall bring him low:55 but honour shall uphold4 the humble in spirit. |
| Whoso is partner6 with a thief hateth6 his own soul: he heareth4 cursing, and bewrayeth55 [it] not. |
| The fear of man bringeth4 a snare: but whoso putteth his trust6 in the LORD shall be safe.29 |
| Many seek18 the ruler's6 favour; but [every] man's judgment [cometh] from the LORD. |
| An unjust man [is] an abomination to the just: and [he that is] upright in the way [is] abomination to the wicked. |
