Psalms 79 | King James Bible |
Chapter 80 | |
| To the chief Musician18 upon Shoshannimeduth, 5715 7802 A Psalm of Asaph. |
| Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up33 thy strength, and come3 [and] save us. |
| Turn us again,54 O God, and cause thy face to shine;54 and we shall be saved.11 |
| O LORD God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry1 against the prayer of thy people? |
| Thou feedest52 them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink55 in great measure. |
| Thou makest4 us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies6 laugh4 among themselves. |
| Turn us again,54 O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine;54 and we shall be saved.11 |
| Thou hast brought55 a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out17 the heathen, and planted4 it. |
| Thou preparedst14 [room] before it, and didst cause it to take deep root,55 and it filled17 the land. |
| The hills were covered27 with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof [were like] the goodly cedars. |
| She sent out17 her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river. |
| Why hast thou [then] broken down1 her hedges, so that all they which pass by6 the way do pluck1 her? |
| The boar out of the wood doth waste17 it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour4 it. |
| Return,3 we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down54 from heaven, and behold,3 and visit3 this vine; |
| And the vineyard 3661 3 which thy right hand hath planted,1 and the branch [that] thou madest strong14 for thyself. |
| [It is] burned7 with fire, [it is] cut down:7 they perish4 at the rebuke of thy countenance. |
| Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man [whom] thou madest strong14 for thyself. |
| So will not we go back4 from thee: quicken17 us, and we will call4 upon thy name. |
| Turn us again,54 O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to shine;54 and we shall be saved.11 |
